“He’s my Rock, my sword, my Shield…he’s the hub in the middle of the wheel… hmm hmmm”
As I sat talking with my lovely mother over the phone, shouting could be heard. I turned my head to see a man walking and in his arms was a small boy. The boys head rested on the man’s shoulder, his arms wrapped around him as much as he could, and the man held him in return. Along side them on the road was a vehicle and whomever was inside it was throwing insults at them. The man did not waiver, exchanging words he continued walking, shielding the boy.
This all happened in a matter of seconds and being a witness to it reminded me of the sweet simple truth that when trouble comes your way, cling to Jesus all the more, he will carry you…
I know that many of you are familiar with this prayer/poem. Do you know the difference between the two?
The boy knew that his father was carrying him and was at peace. The man in the story didn’t realize it.
Our Father asks us to trust him. When the storm is too great and you feel like you can’t go any farther, trust Him. And when he picks you up, cling to Him all the more. Because His love for you is great. Take some time to read Isaiah 40: 28-31.
No matter what storm you’re facing today. Please know that you aren’t alone. The Lord Our God may be doing more than holding your hand, he just might be carrying you…Rest in Him.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” ~ John 14: 27
Share with us a time when you thought you were alone, but after looking back you realized God was carrying you. Don’t keep it a secret, testify of His great works that we may rejoice along side you!
