Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, How I wonder what you are?

It was my dad who first led me to look into the heavens and see the stars glittering above.  He lovingly showed us how to find the Big dipper, the Little dipper, the North star, and Orion. Being in the country, we could see the stars without any difficulty and what  a wonderful memory to behold.
“He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. (Psalm 147:4)
Did you know that God speaks about constellations in His Word?  I didn’t either until recently.

Job 38:31-33 reads ” Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades – (Pleiades huddles behind the shoulder of Taurus the Bull-Pleiades, also known as the seven sisters…do you know where seven stars are mentioned in the Bible? Check out Revelation 1:16),

or loose the cords (belt) of Orion? (Are you familiar with this one?)

Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth (the zodiac / constellations ) in their season,

or can you guide the Bear with its children? (The Bear is Ursa Major!  And her child following close  behind plays with the north star by its tail.)

I cannot do these things!  But I know who can – Do you? His name is the Great I AM, Creator of the Universe…

How much more are we precious to Him? Check this out.
Thank you Father for the constellations, the galaxies, the universe, and for your Son, Jesus Christ!
What is your favorite constellation?  Who taught you to enjoy star gazing?
